Message:Hippy : a usu. young person who rejects the mores of established society (as by dressing unconventionally or favoring communal living) and advocates a nonviolent ethic; broadly : a long-haired unconventionally dressed young person This is what everyone thinks. Thats the first problem. People just label you by the way you dress and look first and formost. This is what the world has come to. Now its all how popular you are and what you look like and who you know. Not what you belive. I mean look at some of the people who founded the country. They were pretty ugly (if i do say so myself). But now look at the presidents. All clean shaven, "good looking." Thats the problem, i think its that people want to go for the person thats more popular instead of the person thats capable and willing to do it right the first time without scandles. Well, let me put it this way. You know that one guy that everyone didnt like. But was still somehow popular? Well the reason is that people are afraid to think for themselves. They dont want to seem "uncool" by saying that that cool person is really, a huge moron. Maybe if people would start to think for themselves for at least one point in their life, with out the corruption of money, or self gain, but of helping the rest of man kind. Just maybe we can make life a little better. Of course, then all the people would turn hippy, and then there would be shades of hippiness. At which point, the whole process of whos more popular would probably wave its head again... PS Because this was written at 10:30 Pm on a friday night. So i probably will come back and post again to improve this.

Message: I am not a hippie. I don't dress like the stereotypical hippie, I don't act like a stereotypical hippie, and I don't look like the stereotypical hippie. Then what am I? A question I have asked my self alot lately. Reading your post remindes me of Woodstock '99, as I sat there, in front of the TV, watching it burn, watching everyone scream out in hate and rage. How did this happen? How did Woodstock go from peace, love, and happiness to a hatefest? It seems that in our generation peace, love, and happiness has given away to hate, money, and a struggle for power. I am only 15 and have been lied to and misled for the better part of my life. I've been taught to "love" money, and to "love" competion, this is because everyone is on a quest for happiness and they think that money will bring this to them. Which is a lie. People have lost faith in their religons making their life seem pointless, they need somewhere to go, something to shoot for, they choose money. They've been led astray, they will never be happy. I am only 15, I don't know the "right path", but I do know that almost all religons, almost all philosophys focus on one thing, loving EACH OTHER. That I feel is the key to being happy. I am not a hippie, just a kid with a computer who thinks it's a bout time that society takes a look at self and realizes that its time for a change.

Message: First I would to tell you something about myself. I'm 17 years old at the moment. My birthday is the 9th of May 1982. I have been a vegetarian since the 12th of July 1997, that would be 2 years and 3 months. I have also been getting involved with 'Grrr', it's a youth part of animal liberation. I am also in training to be a buddhist (so to speak) but I know very little about it. My friend as been teaching me the ways.I've also been looking at the PETA sites on the internet and trying to do what I can to protest against animal crulety; I've tried many times to get on the radio so I could speak of the horrors of McDonald's slaughterhouses etc, I'm also in the process of wrighting a letter to the newspapers about the issue. Another one of my interests is poetry, i've been writing poems for 2 years now. I also like to write stripts. When I am older I hope to write for a living and at the same time using it to bring people's attention to issues such as animal cruelty etc. - I don't know how good I am but I guess it's up to the reader to tell. My favorite band is Silverchair, for one thing their music is good and they give money to animal rights groups and use their fame to help and not hinder. Ps: I don't have a Email site yet- but soon I will hopefully and I would like to meet some of you one day.

Message:This is the second profile I have put on here. The reason is because someone e-mailed me and said I should not judge people the way I did. I did not mean to offend anyone. What I meant was there are a lot of younger hippies who believe they are hippies based only on the way they dress. Hence: Fake hippies. Okay now. Message: My name is Mike, and at 14, I don't know if I have seen enough to judge the state of the world. But all around me, I see people who are confused, sad, and hateful. After a while, people just turn on the autopilot on their lives, going to their job every day, sitting through classes, pretending to care whether or not you're "Having a Nice Day." I just turned 14 on October 16 I'm vegetarian and boycot McDonalds (or pretty much all fast food joints for that matter) and Nike. I don't shave and that causes a riduculous amount of controversy at school.
