Hip Glossary – Jack Kerouac

Jack Kerouac: Beat author wrote “On the Road” and The Dharma Bums, about the freedom of living each day as it comes. He inspired a whole generation to get backpacks and take to the road. His beat friends Allen Ginsberg and Neal Cassady appear in his works. Kerouac coined the term “Beat Generation” to describe his friends and the phenomenon.
