Poems
    by Beth

    To the ‘Loners’
    Take heart.
    Everywhere, there are people
    Whose souls are mirrors
    Of your own.
    Sing your songs.
And listen for the melodies that are
    All around you.

    Incense
    Gray silken scarf,
    Dancing and wavering,
    Your fragile beauty
    Penetrates the air
    And intoxicates my soul.

    On the Inside
    Petals from the flower
Fall into the water like tears
    Swirling into a pattern
Patterns are all inside my mind
Kaleidoscope colors in swirls of iridescent wonder
Fingers of mist probe my eyes and
And draw me towards the rainbow
I exist to find my way
    Through the rainbow
    The other side lies like
    A pool of melted silver
No, I am not of this world
    That is my world.
    Perfumed thoughts float
    In the ionosphere
And flutter with a flap of white wings
    Into the dove of freedom
Behind the shadows of my eyes.

    Nature
The leaves fall from the trees like tears
Gentle hands of rain caress my face
    It cleanses, renews, purifies
    And restores life to all.
Nature is the only true beauty
It is the only thing that is completely innocent.

    A Moment
I close my eyes for a moment
    And then the moment's gone
The empty air eludes my grasp
    There are so many things
    I can't hold on to
    They only fly away
    The moments slip through
    My fingers so fast
There's nothing to hold on to
Not even the love, nor pain, nor hate
    I felt so long ago
    Everything is trivial.
